By applying a floor coating or covering, you will not only improve the appearance of your garage floor, but you can also protect it against stains and deterioration, and make it easier to clean.

When choosing a coating or cover, there are many options available to those people who are willing to roll up their sleeves:

Paint – Painting a garage floor is an easy and inexpensive way to improve its appearance. Before painting, any cracks in the flooring will have to be repaired and the floor must be cleaned. Paint can then be easily applied with a roller. Click here for instructions.

Epoxy – Epoxy is similar to paint, but includes a built-in hardener. Once the floor has been repaired from cracks and painted, the epoxy can be applied to the floor. This must be done quickly because the mixture dries within two hours. For instructions on how to epoxy your garage floor, click here.

Sealers – Sealing your concrete floor is a budget-friendly solution to increasing durability. The slight sheen will make the floor look more attractive and the sealer will help protect against stains. For more information, click here.

Interlocking tiles – These tiles are usually made from vinyl or rubber and are extremely heavy duty. They snap together to provide stability rather than sticking directly to the garage floor. These are excellent for covering cracks in a concrete floor and work best on a level surface. Click here for interlocking tile options.

Roll-out mats – This is one of the easiest ways to refresh your garage floor. Roll-out flooring is applied by simply rolling out the material and cutting off the excess. This flooring is not as easily repaired as interlocking tiles because you cannot remove small sections. Click here to view some roll-out mat options.
