Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation is passionate about giving back to those who sacrifice for the freedom of the people who live in and love this great country. It is our honor to help military families purchase homes throughout the United States each and every day. We take the time to explain all of the loan options available, including VA loans.

Our commitment to veterans runs deeper than making sure that they have the best possible experience when buying a home. Fairway employees contribute directly to the American Warrior Initiative. AWI’s mission is to educate Realtors across the country about how to best assist military families in buying homes. Louise Thaxton andUnknown-6 Sean Parnell, co-founders of the American Warrior Initiative, presented to the crowd of real estate agents and Fairway employees. Sean Parnell is a decorated U.S. Army Captain and Airborne Ranger, and author of New York Times bestselling book Outlaw Platoon.

But AWI goes much further than that – our initiative changes lives of U.S. veterans. Yesterday, at an event in Charlotte, North Carolina, Fairway and the American Warrior Initiative honored two veterans who served our country. In front of hundreds of people, decorated Charlotte-area veteran Lewis Hunt was presented with a service dog through Saving Grace K9’s.

Also honored was Jorge Sanchez, a disabled veteran and a single father of five. Due to the cost of his medical bills, Sanchez was not going to be able to attend his youngest son’s graduation from Air Force Basic Training on Thanksgiving Day in San Antonio, TX. Sanchez was surprised with a $10,000 check for an all-expenses-paid trip for his whole family to San Antonio. He is able to use any remaining money for his medical bills.

The opportunity to give back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country is something that we never take for granted at Fairway. We feel honored to have been able help two worthy veterans in need. I am proud that I work for a company that gives back to the military community in many ways.
