A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the Portland, Oregon area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local veteran and organization. As part of this event, the Fairway branch held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.
The first honoree was a U.S. Navy veteran who was presented with a $10,000 grant to help him and his family. Fairway and AWI also awarded a grant to the organization “K9s for Veterans” to cover the costs of service dogs for three deserving veterans.
Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, please give me a call.Tags: Veterans
